East Tennessee State Buccaneers and Lady Buccaneers → East Tennessee State Buccaneers – Referring to female athletes as "Lady" has been done away with at East Tennessee State along with almost all other universities. The official term for male and female athletes are Buccaneers. This is referred on the universities website as well as talked about by the women's coaches themselves.
